Dear Resident,
It has come to our attention that some residents are putting out yard waste many days prior to pickup day which is Wednesday. Yard waste and trash are not to be placed on the curb until the night before or the morning of pickup.
From the 2020 ACC Guidelines/Design Standards:
Debris
“No rubbish or debris, including yard waste of any kind shall be dumped, blown down storm drains, placed or permitted to accumulate on any lot, common ground, sidewalk, easement, or road. Rubbish, debris, and yard waste must be stored out of view until pickup dates.
According to the City of Marietta, all household waste should be placed in garbage cans with tight-fitting lids at the curb prior to 7 a.m. on the day of pickup. Yard waste should be placed in biodegradable paper bags at the curb prior to 7 a.m. on the day of pickup. Branches and limbs less than 6’ in length may be placed at the curb prior to 7 a.m. on the day of pickup.”
Nobody wants to look at unsightly trash/yard waste over a period waiting for the next pickup day. Piles of yard waste/branches can also pose a traffic hazard if the pile extends out into the traffic lane.
Do not place trash/yard waste at the curb until the night before or the morning of pickup.
Also remember to NOT blow or throw grass clippings onto the road or sidewalks. This poses a hazard to motorcyclists and bicyclists as well as being an eyesore.
Let’s all do our part to promote our neighborhoods and keep our community looking good.
Thank you,
Randy Bateman
